Kelpie is operated by Kelpie Pet Technology LLC.

1. Overview

Kelpie is built to help you care for your pet—not to harvest your data.

We collect only what we need to make the app work well, and we aim to be clear about how it’s used.

2. What We Collect

Account Information

  • your email address
  • authentication details

Pet and Care Data

  • pet profiles
  • medications and schedules
  • health event logs

Uploaded Content

  • documents or images you upload (for example, with Kelpie Fetch data ingest service)

Usage and Diagnostics

  • how you use the app
  • performance and crash data

3. How We Use Your Data

We use your data to:

  • power the core features of Kelpie
  • send reminders and notifications
  • process uploaded documents
  • improve reliability and performance

That’s it. No ads, no resale.

4. Infrastructure and Tools We Use

Kelpie runs on trusted third-party infrastructure:

  • AWS (Amazon Web Services) — hosting, database, and system operations (Fargate, RDS, CloudWatch)
  • PostHog (Cloud) — product analytics
  • Sentry — error monitoring

These providers may process data on our behalf.

5. Analytics and Logging

We collect usage and performance data to improve the app and monitor reliability.

This includes:

  • feature usage
  • device and performance data
  • errors and crash reports

This data is pseudonymous—it’s tied to internal identifiers (such as user IDs), not directly to your name or email.

We do not use analytics tools to track sensitive personal information and do not use advertising trackers.

6. Uploaded Documents (Kelpie Fetch)

If you upload documents:

  • files may be temporarily stored and processed
  • processing may use automated systems, including AWS Textract
  • you can delete files at any time

We do not guarantee the accuracy of extracted information.

7. Data Sharing

We don’t sell your data. Full stop.

We only share data with:

  • service providers (like AWS, PostHog, and Sentry)
  • legal authorities, if required

8. Data Retention

We keep your data while your account is active.

If you delete your account:

  • your data is permanently removed
  • deletion may not be immediate due to backups and system processes
  • it cannot be recovered

9. Your Choices

You can:

  • request a copy of your data
  • delete your account

If you plan to leave, we recommend exporting your data first.

10. Tracking

Kelpie does not respond to “Do Not Track” signals. However, we limit tracking to product analytics and do not use third-party advertising trackers.

11. Security

We take security seriously and use industry-standard practices.

That said, no system is completely risk-free.

12. Children’s Privacy

Kelpie is not intended for children under 13.

We may update this policy over time.
