Kelpie Terms of Service

Kelpie ("Kelpie", "we", "our", or "us") is operated by Kelpie Pet Technology LLC.
1. Welcome to Kelpie
Kelpie helps you stay on top of your pet’s care—medications, schedules, and health events—so you can focus on what actually matters: taking care of them.
By using Kelpie, you agree to these Terms.
2. Using Kelpie
You must be at least 18 years old to use Kelpie.
You’re responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
Please don’t misuse the service—this includes trying to access other users’ data, disrupting the system, or using Kelpie for anything unlawful.
3. Your Data
Kelpie is built around the information you provide.
That includes things like:
- medications and dosages
- schedules
- health records
- uploaded documents or images
You’re responsible for making sure that information is accurate.
Kelpie doesn’t verify medical information—we help you organize it.
By uploading content to Kelpie, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store, process, and use that content solely to provide the service.
4. Not Veterinary Advice
Kelpie is not a veterinary service.
We don’t provide diagnoses or treatment recommendations. Always consult a licensed veterinarian for medical decisions.
Kelpie is a support tool and should not be relied on as the sole method for managing your pet’s care.
5. Reminders and Notifications
Kelpie can send reminders to help you stay on track.
But like any system that depends on devices, networks, and third-party services:
- notifications can be delayed
- they can fail
- or they may not appear as expected
Kelpie may also be unavailable from time to time due to maintenance, updates, or factors outside our control.
You’re still in charge of your pet’s care—we’re here to support, not replace that.
6. Kelpie Fetch (Document Uploads)
Kelpie may offer features that let you upload documents (like PDFs or images) to extract information.
If you use this:
- you’re giving us permission to process those files
- files may be temporarily stored while processing happens
- processing may use automated systems (including AWS Textract)
You can delete uploaded files at any time.
We do our best, but extracted data may not always be accurate.
7. Subscriptions
Some features require a paid subscription.
Payments for subscriptions are processed by third-party platform providers (such as Apple App Store or Google Play) or payment processors, depending on how you access Kelpie.
We do not store or have direct access to your full payment information.
Subscriptions:
- renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the billing period
- are managed by the platform or provider through which you subscribed
If you subscribe through Apple, your subscription will be managed through your Apple App Store account, including billing and cancellation.
Any unused portion of a free trial, if offered, will be forfeited when you subscribe.
We are not responsible for billing errors or issues caused by third-party payment providers, but we will make reasonable efforts to assist you.
8. Exporting and Deleting Your Data
You can request:
- a copy of your data (for example, as a CSV)
- deletion of your account
If you delete your account:
- your data will be permanently removed (subject to system backups and legal requirements)
- deletion may not be immediate and may take a reasonable period to complete
- we can’t restore your data later
We do not guarantee that exported data will be compatible with other services or that it can be re-imported into Kelpie.
If you think you might need your data, download it before deleting your account.
9. When Things Go Wrong
Kelpie is provided “as is.”
That means:
- we can’t guarantee perfect uptime
- we can’t guarantee every reminder will fire
- we can’t guarantee extracted or stored data is always correct
Kelpie depends on third-party services and platforms, and we are not responsible for failures or interruptions caused by those services.
To the extent allowed by law, we’re not responsible for outcomes related to missed reminders, incorrect data, or pet health decisions.
10. Legal Stuff (The Important Bits)
Indemnification
If your use of Kelpie causes legal issues (for example, because of inaccurate data you entered), you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Kelpie and its operators.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois.
Disputes
Any disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration in Illinois. You agree not to participate in class action lawsuits.
Time Limits
Any claim must be brought within one year.
11. Changes to the Service
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time, with or without notice.
12. Updates
We may update these Terms from time to time.
If you keep using Kelpie, that means you accept the changes.
